If you want to now how to calculate this in your head then remember the four numbers

(12 squared, 5 squared, 6 squared and two more than the first)
These are the twelve month adjustments.
Now take the year of your birth ignoring the century (35) and divide it by 12. Add the answer to the remainder (2 + 11 = 13).
Divide the remainder by 4 (ignoring any remainder this time) and add this to the number you already have. (11/4 = 2. 2 + 13 = 15)
Now add on the month adjustment, September is the ninth month so add 6 (from 036) to get 21.
Now add on the day of the month. (21 + 26 = 47)
Now take out all multiples of 7 (you could have done this at the various stages to keep smaller numbers in your head) so 47 will reduce to 5. (47 = 6 x 7 + 5)
Counting Sunday as the first day you were born on day 5, ie Thursday.
