I agree, he should be dropped from the team. If he's not scoring goals, he doesn't appear to contribute anything of note to the team - and he's certainly not scoring at the moment. The answer to the problem may actually resolve the other debate raging at the moment, which is whether Crouch and Rooney can play together. On that one, I think they CAN play together but there are better combinations England could field, for example Crouch with Michael Owen (if ever fit again) or at the moment, Crouch with Andy Johnson. So does this mean I am suggesting dropping Rooney? Well, actually, no - I think Rooney's best position is going to turn out to be as a central attacking midfielder rather than a striker, allowing the Crouch and ANOther striker partnership to work up front. Elsewhere I'd move to 3-5-2 with attacking wingbacks a la Venables team of 96 (Gerrard being one of them), and stick with Carrick who is class but out of form. My starting 11 when everyone's fit: GK: Robinson; (attacking) WingBacks: Gerrard, A Cole; Centre Backs: Ferdinand, Terry, G Neville; Midfield 3 of Hargreaves, Carrick, Rooney; Strikers: Crouch, A Johnson

It depends on who is available. While Frank has been in poor form for a while, he in theory can still play better than other available midfielders. In the future, the best four man midfield will likely be Joe Cole, Hargreaves, Gerrard and Lennon...
