"i think, therefore i am"
now, having that in mind- you must think of the soul as the human essence. The subconscious and our thought-that is the soul. It's pretty much the battery to the human body. I'm not sure if it's eternal, because it's not in my belief system that there is an after life..but that is something each individual person has to decide for themselves spiritually. I believe the soul is formed when we are-and at the moment that our brain is..and that we are able to think. at that moment i believe our soul is in function. Some people believe the soul is an entity in itself and returns again and again to earth in different lives..i dont know if i'd side with that but it's an interesting concept.
anyway, if you look at the soul as the mind, and the thing which makes us feel, and think. then once with a brain-we are also granted souls. same goes for animals i would assume.
all of this is subjective though..because we do not know an 'absolute truth'

Everything is god. We are made of the same thing that god is made of. We are made of star dust. We are stars. That is to say that everything has a soul. The soul is in the body in the egg or before birth.
Now the rest. some have one soul, some have two souls, some have three souls. One soul is part of the cycle of life. It is there until death and goes back to be the soul of other things.
The second soul is the life of the person or animal. It's the feelings of being alive. This soul goes from life to life.
The third soul is the one that stays behind the Veil. It is the director of the life.

If the answer is yes, I believe the creator put both Humans and Animals in some poor vehicles to carry it around, I suppose everyone needs to die first to test out their individual theories, but then how would you communicate your findings back from the spiritual plane?

I'm not sure. But if so, the invisible soul population would be more than the current total no. of living human on earth!

That depends on your spirituality. I believe that every living things has a soul. We are descendants from God, it is what keeps us connected to him.
Some questions aren't meant to be answered until we can understand them.

No one has the answer for sure. All is speculation. Some believe in afterlife, some do not. Some believe in God, some do not. You have to find your own way. Good luck on your journey.
