should the crown or the da make deals with them to go easier on them when found guilty or should really be made examples of.After all the courts and even the cops say ignorance or being drunk is no excuse. The reason for this question is one cop was just found guilty of sexual assault. The crown made a deal for a absolute discharge if they moved him to another province as he had suffered enough .He aparrently lost 21 days pay nice wages over 8,000 dollars yup thats the figure also he was drunk.Definitelya giffrent set of laws Or should he have gotten at least half the maximum sentence after all he of all should know right from wrong and if he arrested someone for same thing he would say make an example of this guy.but hey he still a cop aressting people for the same thing he did He broke the law the government says it ok your a cop

they should be treated equally....good or bad.....if they are found guilty the book should be thrown at them as they are supposed to be looked up to by the community and respected by our kids....they should lead by example......for them to commit a crime it is in a way worse than a normal everyday guy/girl

They should be treated exactly like any other person. However I have seen many times where they are given preferential treatment. The cop you are talking about is a prime example. He should have gotten at least the minimum sentence for the crime.

Mate, it depends on the circumstances. If he was generally good, and this was a one off act, then you record it (only as a reminder, not as a criminal offence), but let it go - give them a second chance. On the other hand, if he recommits, (which is why you record it) you not only punish him for both offences, but also for taking advantage of his position.

the jail wouldn't be big enough to hold the bad cops, they lie, break more laws, than anyone,,,,
maybe they should put politicians and crooked cops on a island with judges and lawyers,,,,hey we could call this place hell.,, the only worthy place for them,,
we can only hope carma, gives them what they are so deserving of!!

That makes me angry! It's pure discrimination, nothing else! It happens in my country a lot. Then, when something bad happens, are you supposed to relie on police? The same police who act like criminal, but don't get punished?

I is a witch too. specific, cops ruin the regulation, yet they do no longer go through the outcomes except they are caught and it comes on the information. Then human beings positioned tension on the nearby "government" to shield it.

Yes.
When police officers use their power to commit crimes they have done an incredible injustice and should serve a incredible punishment.
