connect to your router as instructed by your manual (in most cases IP 192.168.1.1) with your browser, find the part where it says "security" and set a password there

after that if you try to connect to that router it will ask for a password which you have to type 2 times (i donno why 2 times, it's stupid, but it is) so you can connect ... but after the first time, you won't need to type the password .. it is automatically being saved

You should enable encryption on your wireless. WAP encryption is preferrable to WEP. You set up shared secrets for the machines that you want to connect to your wireless.

There is no easy way to set up a typical login prompt for access to your wireless.

Check the manual for the proper steps. However, if you don't have a manual, you can search online for the brand and model number. You should be able to find the manual easily. Follow the steps in it!
