I am aware of the fact that I am posting this question on yahoo answers is somewhat paradoxical, or even hypocritical.

Despite the interesting way in whice you worded it, you are right.
Is it a bad thing though? There are also plenty of people on here who are more bored than socially challenged, I assume you are one of them... So you could say it is also mental masturbation for the incessantly bored (or bored at work, like me)..
Entertain yourself with it.. It's not doing you any harm, and if anything is building up those socially challenged people's self- confidence when it comes to commuinicating.

lmao - yes for some I definately think so. I personally know someone who spends hours every night on here. Thats why I came to check it out. Kinda interesting, but I can't see myself doing it all the time.
