Sad, but true. If they had let the Scots run things perhaps we'd all have our countries with nice neat neighborly borders.

No. Because all the immigrants are getting citizenship and becoming english. Then their children born in england are certainly english however you look at it.
I think you will find that the english (=saxons) were mixed with the french (=normans) around 1066, and before that the britons were mixed with the scandinavians (the sais/saxons), and before that by the romans. Human populations move and mingle, it has happened long before modern humans existed.
Why care??. We are all humans.
Now if neanderthals were taking over britain, well...
