OLD WIVES TALE..
My gran of 86,said try using a brown paper bag, placing it on the affected area & place a hot iron over the bag.
That should melt the fat & absorbe it into the bag.
Try it? better than throwing it away??

Sprinkle the stain with talcum powder, get some brown paper and put over the talc, press on paper with a hot iron for a few seconds or so, brush a bit of the talc away to see if its lifting the grease out, repeat until its all gone then wash as normal.

You should not have washed it right away. You could try to still use dish soap on it and see if it will work. If not take it to the drycleaners and see if they can help. In the future all grease and fat stains should be treated with dish soap first then rinsed in cold water treat again and wash.

Whilst it would be nice to use a traditional method to clean I have always found that nothing beats using Vanish spray (pink bottles in supermarkets) to removing fat from clothes-although I have not had to use on goose fat. Good luck!

This works best when the fat is fresh, but may work for you. sprinkle it with talcum powder (any kind) or cornstarch, then use liquid detergent directly on the spot and wash. good luck
