Since cricket is a game of uncertainties as has been proved on many occasions in the past, nothing can be predicted for sure about the outcome of a tournament in advance. While in the present form Australia are hot favourites to win the tournament, past record of Champions Trophy shows that not hot favourites, but underdogs have won the Trophy.
It all depends on the performance of players on the field on the given day. Teams like South Africa, India, Pakistan, Sri Lanka,
England and even New Zeland are capable of staging upset wins and win the Trophy.
With the home advantage, India has better chance to win the tournament if their players perform to their potential consistently with fighting spirit and priority to national pride than personal gains/interest.
