as per Bhartiya social structure this out cast system was made to give punishment to criminals, to keep them away from rest of the society, all invaders took advantage of this system, especially East India company rulers used it so much as weapon to damage the social structure. Even politician and so called well-wishers or sympathizers is taking use of out cast system as fuel to gain some votes and popularity. I personally feel Dalit name should be considered insult to an individual, not to be proud of to get reservation, jobs, conversion and license to abuse upper cast.

Yes I too agree with your views but this system has come down to us through traditions and generations. Its just not possible to forget what values your family has built in you.
Why even people who embraced Christainity thousands of years ago in India has divided the church on the basis of castes of their forefathers.
Its just simple you will not like to do some menial job nor would you like your children to marry a person doing a class 3 or class 4 job. This is modern day casteism which is more or less similar to your age old system.

THE CASTE SYSTEM WAS NOT INVENTED TO PUNISH THE CRIMINALS BUT TO EXPLOIT THE MAJORITY OF SO CALLED LOWER CASTES BY THE MINORITY OF SO CALLED UPPER CASTES ESPECIALLY THE BRAHMINS. READ THE RAMAYANA AND THE MAHABHARATA. SHAMBUK WAS KILLED FOR READING VEDAS. EKLAVYA HAD TO DONATE HIS THUMB FOR LEARNING ARCHERY. WHENEVER THE MONOPOLY OF THE GENERAL CASTES IS CHALLENGED THEY SHOUT MERIT AND RESERVATIONS BASED ON ECONOMIC CRITERIA. BUT THEY ARE NOT INTERESTED IN REMOVING THE CASTE SYSTEM BECAUSE THEY DON'T WANT TO LOSE THEIR SOCIAL POWER. A DALIT NO MATTER HOW QUALIFIED AND LEARNED WILL NOT BE ALLOWED TO BE A PRIEST. WHENEVER HINDU-MUSLIM RIOTS START THE GENERAL CASTES INSTIGATE THE DALITS AND OBCS AGAINST THE MUSLIMS AND WATCH THE FUN.IF BY MISTAKE ANY GENERAL PERSON GETS KILLED THE RIOT IS CALLED OF BY HIS CASTE.ONCE AGAIN I TELL YOU MY FRIEND READ THE INDIAN HISTORY. WHY ARE SO MANY MUSLIMS IN THE SUBCONTINENT? BECAUSE THEY GOT CONVERTED TO AVOID PERSECUTION FROM THE SO CALLED UPPER CASTES.IF CASTEISM IS NOT AN ISSUE IN INDIA PRESENTLY TELL ME WHY DO STILL MATRIMONIAL ADS ASK FOR SPECIFIC CASTE BRIDES/GROOMS?
