Its okay to drink de-caf during pregnancy, but you're better off to drink something that will benefit your baby more such as water, milk or pure fruit juices.

going decaff is good, just ween yourself off so that you don't get headaches. Just so you know decaf still has a little caffeine in it. Stay away from caffeinated soda also. It depletes your calcium and your bone density, you would have to drink about 5 glasses of milk to make up the difference. It may be from the caffeine. This also means the baby is getting everything you have and there is nothing left for you. Pregnancy already does this. I understand though. I have been going for the hot choco. I cut back to about one a week. I am 30 weeks prego right now. congrats and good luck

mother of 2 with one on the way.

I don't think there is anything wrong drinking coffee while you're pregnant. I used to have 1 cup a day while I was pregnant and it wasn't even decaff and my son turned out perfectly. I don't think you'll have any probs.

Hi,

I just recently read that decaffeinated coffee still has some caffeine in it. It is not caffeine free. If you would drink about 8-10 cups of decaf you would get the same amount of caffeine of about 1-2 regular cups.

Just found out that there are zillions way more chemicals in decaf that may be even more harmful than caffeine! I was surprized. Talk to your doctor. Personally, I would avoid it all, drink lots of water and safe herbal teas (nothing strange).

Anything in excess is not good. I would lay low on that decaff, just does not sound very healthy.

Congrats!
I'm 5 and a half months and am like you a serious coffee addict (",) although my doctor hasn't told me to stop completely but merely to cut down, reason being all the caffeine in your blood goes to your baby and makes your baby agitated. the same goes for coke and other drinks with caffeine in them. Lucky for me the coffee has now started giving me HORRIBLE heartburn and now I've stopped on my own. (",)
Good Luck.

NOPE! you're completely incorrect in this. A pregnant women, if she has no wellness issues, can drink 3 8oz cups of espresso an afternoon (OR 300mg of caffiene in case you may count huge type) I in simple terms caught with my 2 cups of green tea(I hate espresso) you may drink as lots decaf as you want because of fact it has no cafiene. it is likewise reliable to drink once you're constipated, as cafine stimulates the bowels.
