No. It's just a global media thing. We're much better at spreading news these days, and bad news gets more of a reaction, so that's what all the channels fling around, like monkeys at the zoo. Read some history to get some perspective on what trouble is. Black death, WW1, WW2, Spanish Flu...

God wants us to spread the Good News of Salvation to the world in order to bring hope to people and help them make room for love in their hearts. That way we can have victory over the enemy in this life as well as the next.

If your God is the Father of Jesus Christ, you are asked to share the good news to others to save them out of their lives of sin and receive the help of God to live righteously. Going to heaven is part of the deal.

Yes, most of the world will be looking towards where their own god pointed to. And I have no problem with that. Your god (if there is more than one) asks you to find more supporters for him, that's all.
