Sadly, yes. We are now supporting a large foreign population, easing their way with handouts, whilst our NHS system is overburdened. Our students have to pay for their studies and cannot find jobs to support themselves because posts have been snapped up by foreigners who have come here to improve their English thereby gaining a door into the global English speaking world. Our pensioners are often on the breadline, lonely and neglected. They cannot afford proper care and are forced to stay in their homes however handicapped and unable to cope. Those that have saved all their lives instead of spending their earnings are robbed by the government whilst subsidies are given to those who are newly arrived to this country and have paid nothing into the system. There would be enough homes to go around if we did not have this influx of new comers but our own young people can no longer afford their own homes because demand exceeds supply. We are not a very large country and our green and pleasant land is being covered with concrete to cope with this tide of newcomers many of whom settle here but have no intention of ploughing back their income into our economy. There used to be a very strict vetting of foreigners who were not allowed to stay more than three months if they had no jobs to come to and had to report to the police at regular intervals. Now it seems to be a free for all, not just from EEC nationals but from all over the world.

Unfortunately, the UK has been somewhat "soft" on allowing foreign nationals to enter the UK. The whole immigration procedure has become a joke. Furthermore, it appears that the indigenous population are given fewer and fewer rights. Surely, we should be showing some sort of moral responsibility to look after our own citizens. It is also inappropriate that our welfare benefit system, our social housing and indeed the NHS is exploited in such an obvious manner. Yes, there will be people who are screaming "racism" but enough is enough. I feel we need to look at the society that we are creating and whether diversity is at a cost. Furthermore, the notion that we have to care for everyone is wearing somewhat thin and just fills me with sheer apathy.
