Why Yahoo! Mail Service requires this authorization?

I believe it is set up in your account and in your preferences.. to ask you for verification at a certain amount of time... Yahoo has always asked for verification if I shut my PC down.. and then log back in.. it is all geared to 'cookies' on your system... whether they are active or not..

you can set it verify everytime you log in (like if you have other people accessing it), or once every 24 hours. It cannot be less than the latter. Your's must have gotten changed somehow (one of those yahoo gremlins) but you can go into preferences and change it back.
