Umm, if it's an old fashioned one, here's what you do:

1. Turn it over, and take of the roller. It should have two locks on it that you'll have to turn for it to come off.

2. Take off the old belt, and replace it with a new belt. Replace the roller.

3. Unlock the front part. The unlocking mechanism should be behind the light on the front. The front part will tilt forward.

4. Turn the square piece of plastic(under the light, you might have to unscrew it, just a little bit so it can turn) on the front until it catches the new belt on the metal bit that looks like a horn.

5. When the belt catches, turn it so that the rotator(round, straight metal bar) can fit in the belt.

6. Close the front, then spin the plastic square part until it drops the belt on the rotator. Screw it back in.

I hope that helps, sorry for the lack of technical terms.

just take the head off (red to red)and unlatch the silver plate, spin it back green to green. if the old belt is still on you can pull the brush right out using that belt, if not you have to pull the roller stright out, then put the new belt on and make sure you put the roller back in with the end caps on the same #. (there is either #'s or little slits that are there for adjusting the brush,if they are not on the same # you will wear out the roller to soon) after you put it in, make sure the belt lifter starts out green to green arrows and turn it red to red. put it back on the kirby and then spin it green to green. don't worry, its easy after the first time!! good luck
