I understand why people oppose the killing of an unborn child. But I don't understand why, if a man wants to marry a man (and I never thought of it for myself-I am not in that business), should anyone object to it? This is what freedom and democracy is about-not the "freedom" to demonize, humiliate, exploit and conquer other countries.

America was founded on religious freedom, not god. And I just checked the internet and god is the author of nothing. Nada. Your god wrote diddly.

Therefore, we who chose not to believe in a supreme being are just different from you. That's all.

We who support a woman's right to chose what she does to her own body and to that of her fetus, don't believe the same way you do.

We who support and encourage marriage between any two loving souls are not followers of your god.

Who are we? We are thinkers. We are realists. We are generally more open, accepting, loving, giving, caring and whole than a person who hates and a person who judges and a person who takes no responsibility for him/herself because "god" is there to make all of his/her decisions, etc.

To me it's insane sickness for human beings to blindly worship.

Because America is a free country. In this country people should be aloud to do whatever they want as long as they are not hurting someone physically, financially, etc. So what if two guys want to get married. That's their business, not yours. If you are so against it then don't marry a guy if you're a guy or don't marry a girl if you're a girl. If you're against abortion then don't have one. If someone doesn't want to go to church that's their business. Just let people have freedom to do what they want. You shouldn't judge people, that's what God will do.

Did you ever stop to think that not everyone believes in your god, some don't even believe in god at all. The true meaning of freedom has nothing to do with god or religion. It is about having the right to express yourself in whatever way you want to, including religion. By expressing your opinion in such a narrow-minded way, you are the one denying freedom.

Secular nation not atheist nation is the right word...
A nation should not negate or affirm god existence. that's not their business.

Nation shall treat all citizens with equality whatever their belief if a state is catholic, protestant it may discriminate some of them.

Religion shall lead our personal life and should stay a private matter.

Because of our religion if you should not force other people to do what we think is good for us not necessary for them.

I would Rather it become Atheist than ruled by religious fanatics of any stripe.

America was founded by people, (convicts, people on the lam, entrepenurs as well as people seeking religious freedom) immigrating to get a new start in life.

I *wish* wholeheartedly that America was an atheist-run nation. It might lessen the number of ignorant and narrow-minded people walking around trying to stick their noses where they don't belong.

Your question, and the comments in "details," make it clear you think your way is the only right way. That is, that your apparently fundamentalist Christian view is right (well, who can fault you for believing you are right?), and therefore everyone should believe as you do. Unfortunately for you, the world is not made up like that.

Fortunately for the rest of us.
