This question is answered in 1 Corinthians 13:4.

However, I got the following definition from my boss years ago and I liked it:

Love is a decision. It is not magic, it is not a feeling, it is not something you "fall into" nor "fall out of" by accident. It is something you decide. If you are a person who sticks by their decisions, then your love will not die. If, on the other hand, you do not stand by your decisions, than it is very possible you will change your mind at some point. When people say the "fall into" or "fall out of" love, they are only removing accountability from themselves for a decision which they have made.

Don't worry about what the first guy answered. What he doesn't realize is that different people are answering the same question so you are getting different results.
Love to me is watching my son play football and him doing a victory dance on the field.
Love to me is seeing my son hurt on the football field and wanting to run out there.
Love is my girlfriend bringing me lime flavored Kool-aid with Tylenol when I'm sick.
Love is my miniature daschund peeing on the carpet because he hasn't seen me in two weeks because I've been on the road.
Love is seeing my girlfriends daughter play with the Sonic toys I got for her.
All these things are love to me.
But the love you have and receive will be same but in different ways.
Love comes from all things that you love!

connection between two people that is felt rather than defined and this connection is how we are able to determine many other things as well... such as right from wrong, whether or not to trust people and whther the choice we are making seems to be the right one. Love is just one of those unexplained feeling in which are able to lose ourselves in something or someone to such a degree that is almost obsessive.
