A psychological issue, my dear, is considered a real disorder. It's not that mental health problems are any less serious than bodily health problems. The wording or your question is a problem!

It starts as a psychological disorder...the guilt from having eaten too much or the wrong type of food.

But then it becomes a real physical disorder because the body starts to not be able to keep food down. The body becomes accustomed to throwing up. Bingeing and purging will damage the heart and can eventually lead to heart failure.

they are one in the same. a eating disorder is normally a psychological disorder. Just because it's in your head doesn't make it any less real. in fact, it can be the most real thing to anyone. your mind controls how you percive life and all that it includes.

The question supposes that a psychological issue is somehow unreal. This is a dubious assumption at best, and is of no help in trying to deal with the issue of bulimia.

It is a real problem physically and mentally.
Physically your teeth become weak, your blood are up the pole.
And you may find yourself in A and E (ER) with a heart attack!!!!

Mentally it is a problem as it has huge links with anorexia and depression, and personality disorders.

It is not something to be left!!!!!!
