I'm having trouble opening an attachment in an email sent by a trustworthy friend...?

Every time I try to open the attachment my comp totally freezes and I have to re-boot. I know that it can't be a virus because my friend wouldn't send me something that will mess up my comp. Can anyone help me?

I had them resend it but still I can't open it without my comp freezing.

Also I have had my comp checked after I first had this problem: they couldn't find anything. If it was a virus, wouldn't they find it?

Maybe it is a zipped file.Try also getting your friend to re-send the file, it may be corrupt. Also it could be a virus that emailed itself from your friend withouth them knowing.
