ok, heres the story....every weekend (friday and saturday), i go hangout with my friends and we would all smoke some marijuana. i do this every weekend and i still do, but i am getting tired of smoking every weekend. i dont want to just tell my friends that i will pass and not smoke, i want to fit in. so my question is...if i just suck the smoke into my mouth and then blow it out a couple seconds later. meaning that i am not inhaling it into my lungs. will i get high doing this? or does it have to get into my lungs to get high? and if i happen to get a drug test (piss test), will the result become positive or negative? i would highly appreciate any good answers.

Yes you will still test positive, and by the way you need to go back to your question site in yahoo questions about smoking weed and causing cancer. I added a comment to your pick of person with the best answer. You don't need to smoke to fit in, you need to get new friends. Smoking weed is indeed addictive, don't let idiots fool you in misguiding you about the facts about weed. Go to your other question like I said before, there is a web addy there for you to go to. Did you take any kind of perscription? Aspirin? Anything at all? Ask for a second test, give it a few days for your body to cycle through and don't worry. If you don't smoke weed then you really have no reason to worry. Someone else smoking it wouldn't make you turn a positive test, it comes from something you injest or inhale (like the smoke if they were smoking it right beside you). Relax.

If you don't inhale the smoke into your lungs, you will not get high nor will it show up in a drug test because it didn't get into your system. If you got choked on the smoke and accidently swallowed some of it, it might show up the next day or two, but I doubt it. Back yrs. ago I used to smoke (child of the early 70's ya know) and hadn't smoked in a while. Smoked a joint on Fri. nite and they drug tested me first thing Mon. morning at work, if I passed I would be hired on permantly. They hired me so I assume I passed. I wouldn't suggest doing that though. I might have just gotten lucky because it was the first I had smoked in a long time.

no matter what-you still are going to inhale a small amount of the drug even if you just try to hold the smoke in your mouth. in addition-you have blood vessels inside your nose that will absorb the smoke your buddies are exhaling into the air-putting the smoke into your system.
you also have small blood vessels inside your mouth that immediately start to absorb ANYTHING that is put in it.
your best chances of NOT getting a positive drug test is to not do it at all. you need to ask yourself if the reason you need the drug test (job,parole requirement,etc) is worth losing or getting in trouble for just to get high.
and as far as wanting to "fit in". if the guys you hang out with are really your TRUE friends-then they will respect your decision to not want to smoke. if they don't-what kind of friends are they and are they worth having in your life anymore? will they be there to support you if you lose the job you were trying to get b/c you failed the drug test? or be there to have your back if you get in trouble for not passing the test?
if it's for law reasons-a failed drug test follows you wherever you go-making it hard to get a job in the future. you need to do what is best for you and leave the guys behind that don't really want to be your friend no matter what your decision is.

1) if you do not want to smoke it don't.. if they stop being your friends because you do not want to do this then they are not very good friends to began with...

It will be positive
You are hanging around your friends and breathing in their passive smoke. They are exhaling THC fumes and you are inhaling them.
You will have a positive urine test.
There is also some slight degree of absorption from the oral and nasal linings.

I think it has to go into your lungs to get you high, and i think you have to get high for it to show up on a test. But why don't you just tell your friends you want a little break, I have the same problem sometimes where i get tired of it, and it makes being high hella better if you just take a little time off...Just go get drunk for a few weekends...
