The Gateway-to-the-West arch in St. Louis and museum at its base are quite impressive. It's a beautiful structure; you can take an elevator to the top; the museum is underground and it celebrates the USA westward expansion. I've traveled throughout the USA and on 5 continents. I lived in St. Louis for 8 years, and always thought the arch was underrated. If it were in a major global city it might enjoy the same renown as the Empire State Building, Sydney Opera House, or Eifel Tower (all of which I have visited). St. Louis also has other free and low-cost attractions such as museums, a free zoo, and Forrest Park (where the 1904 Worlds fair was held), and the Fox theatre. You could take in St. Louis in one weekend. There may be more exciting cities in the world but perhaps no structures more beautiful than the arch.

If ur short on time and money, a state not that far from u is Arizona, Here the most awesome sight in the USA is the Grand Canyon, viewing it is almost a religious experience. Plus AZ has other National Parks that r very worth ur time, A totally beautiful state. I`m not a resident of AZ,so I`m not just touting its beauty.
