First of all, congratulations!!! You should start showing at 14 - 17 weeks... it depends on your body type. Some can show as soon as 11 weeks and some not until their 23rd week if they're REALLY lucky! I totally recomend the book, "What To Expect When Expecting" I used that book when I had my daughter. It goes through every faze and symptons you probably will be feeling. ITS A GREAT BOOK! I hope your weight gain is going steadily. Remember you should gain 30 pounds overall. I quote from that book:
Baby: 7 1/2 pounds
Placenta: 1 1/2 lbs
Amniotic fluid: 2 lbs.
Uterine enlargement: 2 lbs.
Maternal breast tissue: 2lbs
Maternal blood volume 4 lbs
Fluids in maternal tissue 4 lbs
Maternal fat stores 7 lbs
TOTAL 30 POUNDS
Good luck with that

That's pregnancy sweetie. Everyone's different. Your friend isn't you. I know people who felt their best when pregnant. Other's feel just as you described. If this is your first child, sleep when you're tired if you can. You can't do it with the second child! Take care of yourself. Listen to your body. It's going through so many changes, physically, emotionally, hormonal changes, etc. Morning sickness should pass soon. But...for some women, they can have some sickness throughout the pregnancy or beginning and ending of pregnancy. The aches and discomfort will continue off and on. If you haven't already, buy some books and read up on what to expect. There's a lot of things you need to know about what you're going through. It may help you to know what to expect before it happens. Congratualtions and good luck!

It depends on your body. With my first child i started to show around 13 weeks with my second child i didn't show till i was around 5 months 20 weeks. It depends on your body size and figure. The earliest they can usually tell is around 20 weeks. But i would try to wait till at leat 22 to 24 weeks. The only reason i am saying that is i had a friend do her at 20 weeks and then 6 weeks later went to do another ultrasound and found out it grew a penis. she had to take everything she bought for her girl and buy for a boy.

I am a "Plus-Size" woman and i was in maternity clothes with all 3 pregnancies at about 12 weeks. I probably wasn't showing then, but i couldn't fit in my clothes.
I found out the sex of my babies at 25 weeks but that's way late, my Dr was just very cautious and didn't want to tell me wrong......... i think they can tell you at 17 or 18 weeks,

It depends on your body shape as to when you will start to show. If you are shorter, you show sooner. If you are tall and have a long torso, you might not show until you are 5 months along.
Sorry but you have to wait until you are about 20 weeks for an ultrasound to tell what the sex is.
But, there is a new blood test and they guarantee that they get the sex right, or your money back by 200 percent.

Depending on your size and if you are having a single or a double some where between 4-6months, the earliest they can tell is about 17 weeks or later to be for sure.

If I remember correctly (I have two older kids), you start showing at about 4-5 months and I think you have to be 4 months to see what you're having.

My answer is around 4-5 months before you start showing. I had a sonogram around 6 mo. and the doctor was able to tell me that I was having a boy.
