Why Do Gays/ Lesbians Heterosexually Marry?
since homosexuality becomes more acceptable by many societies...
Often, the dilemma of partners in mixed-orientation marriages is centered not around sex, but around love. Some of these couples have been married for decades; many have children, and have built good lives together; they feel a deep and abiding love for one another. Neither has fallen out of love, yet their lives have changed by virtue of one of the spouses's discovery of his or her authentic identity.

Pathetically, OLGA don't understand English, neither does she (or he) possess any sense of self- awareness or humility.

I had a friend that was a lesbian when I was younger, and she was considerably older than me, and I asked her the very same question. She said she wanted children. The man who fathered them wanted to have a life with her and their children, so she married him. He knew that she was a lesbian, but he didn't care. They decided when their children were all grown up, they'd get a divorce. Sadly, he didn't make it to that point, because he died of cancer when their youngest kid was 12.

Well, there's a big difference between loving someone, and being IN love with someone. I'm sure most people can say that love their mothers, however, most would find that being in love with your mother is more than a little creepy.
There was a recent episode of Oprah, about wives who came out to their husbands. The husband of one couple, came out to her a few years after she came out to him. Turns out, they both wanted families, but because of how they were raised neither even knew that being with a person of the same gender was even an option. They still love each other, and have 2 (or 3) kids, but each has a partner of their own, who they're in love with.
Personally, I'm thankful for the internet/television now days. Where I'm from, it's not the most gay-friendly place, and to be honest, I probably wouldn't know that being with another guy is an option if it weren't for what i've read/watched. I mean, if you're repeatedly told from birth that to be "normal" you have to grow up and marry a nice man/woman, and have several kids, an high paying job, and a big house with a lawn and a white picket-fence, that's what you're going to try and achieve in an attempt to be "normal" despite what feelings you might have on the contrary.

I think sometimes it is used as a cover up. Sometimes it happens because people don't want to face the reality that they are gay. I think also that people do it because it is expected of them.
In today's day and age you find a lot of people who got married and decade or two ago are only coming out now. I guess a decade or two ago things weren't so free as they are today.
I think you can still love the person you are married to - especially if you have children - but I think for your own happiness and those around you, if you are happier with another partner and are ready to take the step then that is why people do it.

Not sure, exactly what you asking as you cover a few points in your 'further details' The main gist of how I understand your question, is Gay people get married to celebrate their love and commitment too each other. They also marry to protect their partner's rights. So that if something happened to one person the other would not be left destitute by relatives or the government.

Even though I'm a woman, and not a man, but I felt compelled to answer this question, because sometimes there aren't any signs, but if you know your man, and study your man, then you would notice a change anyway whether it's with a man, woman or not.

You would be surprised at how many men live gay lives up into their thirties or forties become settling into 'straight' marriages. Women are simply more forgiving of a man who is older and possibly fat & balding. GAY culture abhors 'flaws' and demands a high maintainence life. Some gays get tired of the lifestyle and retreat into 'conventional'marriage.
Peace..
