On Friday, the UN High Commission for Refugees (UNHCR) issued its bleakest assessment. Conflict has displaced 1.5 million people inside Iraq; a tide of refugees swells the 1.6 million living outside the country. The Lancet's estimate of 655,000 deaths since the conflict began is not only in a different stratosphere from Bush's ballpark figure of 30,000 'more or less'. It is also evidence of the asymmetry in the death roll of the war on terror.

I've got a better idea. Kill them all and then no one will be complaining.

I am afraid sorry is just not enough for the horror the poor Iraqis have gone through and are still going through! It is sad that the most powerful nation on the face of this earth has caused so much pain and misery to people who had already suffered so much and have never done anything to USA. As far as the civilian death toll I am not surprised! when the media reports 80 it means hundred if not thousands have died! When they say insurgents it could be anyone! Basically USA invasion opened a gateway to hell for Iraq and it has allowed anyone to come into the country and kill! I do not think anyone can imagine the horrible conditions in Iraq!

Bush Orchestrated the destruction of the otherwise soveriegn nation, Brought about the Civil war, Caused enough geonocides, and tore the country into Shia, sunny and the khurd region,

He had with him the UK tagging along like a lame and tame dog,
The British Empire was brought to the status of poodle by Blair and Bush used its Image to justfy his evil designs,

He lied from the beginning, About the WMDs and about all else,
and the some members of the international community who had no concience supported him, but largely most memeber countries are wary of bush and have seen thru his rhetoric. and known him for what he is. A Devil Incarnate.

America Bombed Japan, Did it opologise, ? Japanese are following Amercia now like a timid nation. America Bobmed Afghanistan, Vietnam, Did it opologise, Israel Bombed Lebnon and killed and displaced thousands, Did it opologise,

We are living in a world driven by craze, greed, shortsightedness and total inhumanity, Power corrupts, and obsolute power corrupts obsolutely,

People with a concience in still exist in America, or any and every part of the world and Common sense shall prevail, perhaps by the advent of Jesus again. and only then.

the time for apologies is long gone. We (the Allies and Yanks) need to be acting positively to rebuild iraq and the lives of people who have been displaced. Nothing we do will help them get over the trauma they have been through in the last 5 years, but by fixing some of the more material issues, they might be able to lead normal lives again soon.

Is it time to say sorry for Iraq's agony? Iraq's agony didn't start with George W.

Has anyone remembered Saddam?

It is time for everyone to get behind their President in any way they can so Iraq's people can experience the same enjoyment of "liberty and justice for all" that we have.

Gee, let's see...Iraq was formerly living under a sadistic, murderous family and had no apparent ability to free itself. And most of the murdering has come from insurgent Iraqis vying for control. They are causing much of their own suffering and blaming it on the West. I'm mostly sorry we wasted our time and our soldiers' lives on barbarous ingrates who don't care about their own people's welfare.

US and its allies should immediately solve the impasse in Iraq. Withdraw from Iraq to avoid further bloodshed.

For what?
I think the reason they lived under what was controlling the people there is the real reason we could say we are sorry they had to live under such & knew no other way to live.

Yes, definately. The world in general would be a better place if countries like the USA or the UK just didn't exist. These countries think that they are superior and that they can just roam the world, causing death, war, poverty and misery as they please.
