i am hoping to go to the usa from australia to study at university and reside there, im just wondering which is the best place to reside in which is "affordable" to a middle class citizen and where can i study as a international student affordably?

Is it easy to get a job there, and around how much would i earn in on of these basic jobs?.

San Antonio Texas because it's cheap, Austin is nearby. Austin is more fun, but San Antonio is cheaper.

The education is cheap and there are a lot of choices (universities). The cost of living is pretty cheap, too.

If you try, you can get a basic job here for 8-11 US dollars per hour. Mostly with benefits.

The climate would suit you and the people are friendly.

Just out of personal experience , I'd say the state would be Pennsylvania, the university would be Penn State. I say this because Pennsylvania isnt really a busy place and jobs are needed there just like any place. I cant say it will be that much exciting for you if you lioke the big city. But for me it was a great place to reside to, and affordable. Good luck! And enjoy you life in the USA- you'll love it! ( If you havent benn here already) anyways have fun and enjoy it and study hard =) Good Luck!

The Ohio State University is a very good school with a large number of international students... there are tons of services for international students to get you settled in...also if you want to live off campus there is a place called University village that has a shuttle to run you to and from school.......(this is if you dont get a car) there are plenty of jobs for college students that want them....pay is around $7 to $10 but depending on what you do you could make more...
trust me Ohio State will be the best school to fulfill your needs i want men 10 points!!!!

Check out midwestern states like Kentucky, Indiana, Ohio, western Pennsylvania.

The Northeast (Baltimore up through Boston corridor), Chicago, southern Florida, and the California coastal areas are the only real expensive areas.

It is very easy to get a very low paying job (minimum wage is currently $5.25/hr but its going to rise to $7.50/hour soon I am hearing). Higher paying jobs typically require prior experience in the field or a college degree. College expenses are becoming increasingly expensive in the US, whereas even 10 years ago you could goto a state college on a shoestring budget that is no longer the case.

As I understand it, a study was done about two or three years ago and all things considered, Reno Nevada was voted as the best city to live in.

Pittsburgh,Pa. Cause you can study in the finest libraries Pittsburgh has there are plenty of jobs here and housing is very affordable. And, many people come here from abroad. Pittsburgh has many thing to see and do while you are here. And in some of the suburban areas crime is at its lowest.
I've lived in the area all my life and would welcome you to live here.

The best place to live in the US is, San Dawg CA. It has perfect weather, it is never to hot in the summer and never to cold in the winter. The best thing abt San Dawg is it at the border so you can party all the time.

Try a Florida venue. You'll feel at home near the ocean and you'll still get a real feel for the rampant racism in the US.
