UTIs are incredibly common during pregnancy. The baby rests on your bladder, making it difficult to empty it completely, which leaves urine in there and bacteria breeding. Very common. You should see the doctor as soon as possible. Your bladder rests right next to your uterus, so when your bladder is irritated, it's easy for your uterus to get upset about it, which causes contractions. Too early for you to be having contractions. They can give you antibiotics while you're pregnant. Trust me, your doc won't give you anything that hurts the baby. That's not what they want, they get sued for that sort of thing.
The more water you drink, the better you will feel. Stay away from caffeine, wipe from front to back, and tons and tons of water will help keep the utis away.
but if you're already seeing blood, sounds like it's already a nasty infection. make sure you see that doctor.

I am also 5 mths pregnant with a UTI and even before getting pregnant I was prone to getting UTI's. My doc put me on antibiotics at 4 months and he has decided that I should be on them for the rest of my pregnancy. There are some antibiotics that are safe for pregnancy and some that are not. (I'm on Ceclor which is pregnancy category b, and considered safe) Your doc will prescribe you with a safe one. An untreated UTI has a lot of risks, you could end up with a kidney infection which can lead to premature labor so its definately best not to ignore it. If you have blood in your urine but don't have any other symptoms yet, it means you are about to get a UTI, so you're definately wise to go get it checked out! Make sure you drink lots of cranberry juice and water throughout your pregnancy to help flush out your bladder.

I'd never had a UTI til i got pregnant. I'm not sure about the blood in the vagina thing. UTI's normally make you pee more frequently, they don't always burn or smell. Your doctor will not prescribe any antibiotics that may harm the baby, so no worries there. just go into the doctor tomorrow, and relax, the stress is harder on your baby than whatever else is happening!

I had the same thing happen to me while I was pregnant many times. Usually alittle blood (sometimes alot) in your urine even without any pain is the beginning of a real bad urinary tract infection. What I did is drank 2 big bottles of 100% cranberry juice over the course of a day. I would think thats about a gallon of it. UTI gone the next day. You'll pee alot, and you'll never want another taste of cranberry juice in your life, but it works. You might also be able to take cranberry pills to prevent it, but ask your doctor. I had a midwife and she didn't like the idea of antibiotics if I didn't need them.
