The view I hold is one that combines science and theology .God , according to most religions is omnipotent , everliving and perfect . According to science , the law of conservation of energy states that energy cannot be created or destroyed but can be changed from one form to another .
Thus if this holds true then God is not the only the source of all things but part of all things to the point where he distributes His energy to creation and controls this energy with his genius. God like the energy in the universe has never been proven to be created and cannot be destroyed.
God started things not only the earth but the universe ages ago. His ultimate plan may not be known but he seems to be a master engineer as his designs are perfect , look at he positon of the earth in the solar system . The design of the human structure and its intellect. the design of the biosytem called earth .Too much to mention .

Maybe at the Big Bang when all that exists in our visible universe came to "be" from an invisible point of nothing. My theory is that a black hole is a point at which all the matter that is sucked into it (which may at some point involve our whole visible universe) is spewed out on the other side onto another dimension which is not experienced by us in this one. And therefore, our "Big Bang" was maybe a black hole somewhere else that erupted into OUR universe here.

there could never have been a beginning of the universe because it keeps on collapsing in on itself every now and then, such as black holes where matter is pulled in to a gravity well, in which it can be theorised that it would eventually pull the entire universe into one point and explode again starting the cycle all over again.
(star trek type answer) in the beginning of this universe there was a explosion of matter and antimatter of immense magnitude which would have been caused when all matter and antimatter was pulled in to one single point in the universe when it could no longer hold any more energy would have exploded sending particles of dust and debris which collected together in smaller clusters to for the stars an planets.
