I am 25 and going to have a baby soon. The dad is gone and I am not putting him on the birth cert so I will get no child support and there is no way around that unless I want the life of my child and I to be in danger. I make 1600 a month and rent is 600 a month with gas and electric. I do not qualify for any assistance when it comes to childcare because I am about 100 over the guideline. Childcare is 650-950 a month. How can I raise a baby on 1600 a month when rent is 600 and daycare is 650-950. I have no relatives to watch the baby for free and no place to live for free. How can I not get assistance for childcare. I have checked everything social secuity and everything and I make too much but that will not be enough to live. That is not including internet or cable which i have not but i guess I will have to cancel. How do other single moms do it in pittsburgh? Should I put my baby up for adoption? I know other mothers have done it and been worse off than me but how???

I make 2400 a month but after taxes and health insurance i make 1600. I reallly don't know any other job i could get greater than 30,000 when i just graduated college with a ms in exercise physiology and bs in nutrition. Dietitians in hospitals make the same.

Certain jobs in nice companies offer child care on the premises and that is what you should be looking for at little to no cost. Also you HAVE to negotiate with people and let people know what your situation is... call the state do what you have to . Nobody wants a child to be without!

Well, first of all I was in the exact same situation just not in pittsburg. It's not going to easy at all, having kids is expensive but think of it this way, way back in the day our g-parents didn't have alot of money and had 7or8 kids, theres people out there that will help find a church get involved in the community and find a womans resource center if available u may have to sacrifice cable and phone for awhile but its so worth it in the long run good luck and I hope you find that a child is a great thing not a mistake.

I would suggest you look for another job, $1600 a month will not be enough to take care of a baby, plus you need to start thinking about the babys future too.

His name doesn't have to be on the birth certificate for you to collect child support.Whoever told you that is lying to you. After you have the baby go file for stamps, wic. You'll see.

you need to talk about this with the hospital. i know these places have human services to help people like you.
All I can do is keep you in my prayers.
Try planned parenthood ( they are more than just an abortion clinic).
