Do you think it is a good addition to the game, or do you think that is not that great. Each team still takes home points. The losing team 1 pt, the winning team 2 pts. Some folks seem to think that it is imbalanced in terms ot team standings.

It does throw the stats out for wins and losses. If a team hangs on through regular and overtime, even if they've been dominateed, they can 'win' a game. They should've changed the points to 3 points for a regular or overtime win, 2 points for a shoot-out win, 1 point for a shoot-out lose. That way, the teams will TRY to win the game skating 5 aside for the bonus point, instead of trying to hang on to get to the shoot-out!!

It sucks and I want the NHL to go back to tie games. So much better that way. Hockey is a team sport and when a game has to be decided in a shootout, you take away the team part of it. The goalie shouldn't have to stand alone to win the game for his team. That's a lot of pressure to put on the goalie.

I like it. I think it's excting to watch and really brings a new atmosphere to the game. It gives the goalies a chance to really stand out and show what they can do. I'm a season ticket holder and I always enjoy ending the game with a shootout!

I think they overhyped it too much. There are some pretty neat plays (I think it was Straka from the Rangers who put the stick with the puck between his legs and scored against Kolzig, or Marty Turco's stick save on Ryan Shannon's stop-on-a-dime deke last night) but it just didn't do it for me as much as I thought it would.

I don't like it, Mid 90's hockey rules were the best. I guess they just want to make an already fast paced game, into a lightning paced game.

I like it. It takes away the 15+ ties almost every team had each year, and is just as exciting as overtime.

Im somewaht indifferent to it, if i actually had team (the flames) that was good at them, im might not be so indifferent.
