It seems like all the posts are rooting for the Tigers! Does that mean that they are the sweetheart team?

A Tiger fan?!! I have been a Tiger fan since I was 6 years old, that is 54 years. Yep, been with them through thick and thin. Had a transistor radio tied to my tractor when I was a kid, it had an ear plug so I could hear over the machinery. Listened to them in Nam and all over the world. I have a couple of Olde English D hats that would make Tom Selleck proud. The whole family is looking for tickets, but they are very hard to get, even if you can afford them. That is the problem, the Rich Bast**ds are only there to be seen, while we real fans can't match their money. Even the nose bleed sections are going for a grand, standing room only is $700 plus. I'm too old to stand up that long, feet are broken down, got shot in Nam, but I have a great seat in my living room and a good TV. But would love to be there one more World Series, went in 1968 and 1984, but looks like I'll miss this one. What a great feeling to beat the Yankees!!

Everybody has always been a Tigers fan. They just failed to show it. The best fans watched a team break a record for the most losses in the AL ever and fall just short of the record for the most losses in a season (barring the 1899 Cleveland Spiders - The Spiders went 20-134). Those same fans watched the Tigers beat the Yankees and their 250+ million dollar payroll and then watched Maggs walk off and send the Tigers to the World Series. We are all bandwagoners in a sense. The question is..did you put your TV on sleep timer in 2003 or did you call into work Oct 14, 2006

First off Mooler, loved your answer for the most part but everyone is not a Tigers fan. Most are a fan now that they are winning. To be a true fan you have to stick with them through thick and thin. Im what you would call a true fan, i sat and watched them lose 119 games for an AL record. Not one which im proud of. I loved seeing them beat the crap out of the Yankees and how they tried buying a World Series ring. Also, for all you Met fans, stop believing already will you?? Cardinals will win the series in a decisive game 7. For all you Cardinal fans, you can then stop believing after you win the NLCS and dont celebrate too much because they are going to lose in either a sweep or 5. They are overmatched and stand no chance.

I live here in Detroit, and being born and living here 35 years, I am not sure if I am ready to get all excited just yet about the Tigers. Let them prove that they are serious- next season, wether champs or not, if they can do all this again in '08...I'll jump back on the wagon like all these other peeps only then.
For now, our team here is for the most part, the Red Wings.
I say go Tigers! (for now)
Somebody PLEASE come and take the Lions away.

No, I'm a Yankee fan
but I have to root for someone
during the postseason
since my Yankees got their tails kicked
after the freakin' first round!
So for October I'll jump on the bandwagon . . . GO TIGERS!!!!

No, I'm an Indians fan :(. I have to say that Detroit deserves to win the World Series after the season they had, though.

they are the sweetheart team.... and frankly i think they have a good shot at beating both ny teams in the same playoffs. which is going to scare people next year because the team is basically the same players with the exception of expeirence and another pitcher ( mike maroth)

Detroit is a good story, but I can't say that I am behind them. I am a Mets fan and they looked awfully good tonight. Go Mets!!!
