Do you think the high expectations of the wedding industry have turned women into demanding b*tches on their big day?

(Work at a fine dining establishment that caters to big weddings).

I agree with some of the answers above - if the woman is a B***h already than the wedding is only going to make it worse, or if there is a lost of pressure it might bring it out. I wouldn't say that brides are equal to dog vomit but I do agree that they should understand that they aren't princesses.

I also see that you work at a fine dining establishment. You have to take into consideration what type of woman would hold their reception at that type of place. Either they can afford it easily which would imply that they have had money and things given to them, or they worked hard to earn the money to be there and feel that since they are spending such a huge amount it better be perfect.

I think there is a bit of pressure on women to have the fairy-tale wedding and such. I also noticed over the summer that there were many shows called "bridzilla" or talk shows with a similar theme; I think this portrays these types of behaivors as normal so more people will adopt them regardless of the inappropriateness of it.

Speaking as a woman who was married about a month ago, it really depends on the individual and their own expectation. Those expectations are colored a great deal, I would agree with the original asker, by the wedding industry.

When planning my wedding I was AMAZED at all the superfulous junk and unrealistic things that were being pushed on me or expected of me. Of course I did not go in that direction and I did something more that resembled me and my Husband - that is to say, lots of funny stuff, colors, and very VERY inexpensive. We put more work in and very little money so we had no staff, just family and friends.

I can imagine that it must be bad working those sorts of events. My family joked that I must be brain dead since I was so calm and friendly the entire time but I sure felt stressed. I also noticed that some of our less kind guests were rude to those the perceived as "the help" which made me very angry since that should not be allowed behaivor under any circumstances.

i think of it could, and for that reason, my spouse and that i do no longer watch those shows. genuinely i'm getting a snicker out of ways stupid a number of those anybody is. yet am grateful that my spouse wasn't like the a number of women on Bridezilla. I watched one episode of it, and this female become telling her father and mom to close up, or perhaps pronounced to her dad, do no longer you have visitors to greet or something very disrespectful like that. If my daughter pronounced that to me on her wedding ceremony day, i could look her interior the face and tell her that she would be in a position to discover somebody else to stroll her down the isle if she would be so disrespectful to me like that. And pass away. because of fact i'm no longer bringing her as much as be so snotty and disrespectful.

No, I think these women who act this way, have acted in this manner their whole lives and it has worked for them, and the wedding just makes it more acceptable. A strong women can be assertive without making everyone around them uncomfortable. Sometimes I really feel sorry for the men they are marrying. Good luck and God bless.

Nope.
Maybe the stress of the event brings out the b... in these women...or maybe the b....was always there.
Face it, these ginormous weddings have less to do with marriage and more to do with the bride wanting a party where she is the center of attention. IMHO anyway.

The wedding industry has nothing to do with it. If a woman's a B then she's gonna be an even bigger one when she's the center of attention. Blech!

That might have something to do with it. They all think they are Princesses and are something special.

They are nothing more special than dog vomit. Once they understand that the divorce rates in this country will drop. But I probably still won't be able to stand them. My advice to you is to become a layer and profit from the other end.. the inevitable divorce.
