It seems to me earthquakes have a kind of domino effect sometimes especially along faults in Turkey and Indonesia.

It is possible.. It is well known that one quake can, and does, set off others. It COULD be that the Korean nuke set off a quake in Hawaii. It is however very unlikely. The Korean nuke was quite small and Hawaii is a long way off. Furthermore, Hawaii is not on the Pacific rim quake zone as Japan and Philippines are, and therefore not connected techtonicly. It is a Mantle Hot Spot that causes Hawaii's quakes and NOT a techtonic boundary. So,,,, yes, but very unlikely.. Mike.( BSc. Geology)

It is highly unlikely that the testing carried out in Korea caused the Hawaii earthquake. That is not saying that a nuclear explosion could not cause an earthquake, however if it an explosion did cause an earthquake it would only be a micro event. The domino effect that you talk about can be observed along any active fault margin. Its really just a game of catch up. Take the Sumatran boxing day event. There have been numerous events (none of the same magnitude) along the fault boundary since the 'main event' progressively working south. Even though Hawaii isn't technically on a major fault boundary the movement of the 'hotspot' (the theory by which there is an upwelling of magma into the crust causing crustal weakness) is more than enough to have triggered the event. For more info on these theories just look at the usgs website, particularly their FAQ section.

You already know the truth or you wouldn't have asked. I would even go so far as to say that the test not only triggered the quake, but was the whole point. If someone is intelligent enough to build a nuclear weapon, then they would most likely know the effects it will have on the geography of our planet. It seems the North Koreans are not happy enough with the damage in Hawaii, so they want to conduct another 'test'. I would venture a guess that they are trying to cause some seismic event in the Pacific to cause damage to Japan, Hawaii, or the west coast of the U.S. I have to give them credit. They've figured out how to attack their enemy without even having to leave their own country or having to claim any responsibility! They are suicidal enough to not even care if their plan backfires and causes an earthquake or tsunami which damages their own nation. It's hard for most of us to accept the extreme sickness of humanity, even when it is staring us straight in the face. Of course, this is only my opinion, for if I had access to this kind of information, I would not be sharing it on a Yahoo! forum! Welcome to Hell, my friend.

Wow, never thought of that. Very intruiging question though. I am going with no. N Korea is a cockroach you just can't step on in time. I am sure the UN will take care of it, at least I am hopefull. Nuclear bombs, underground, dont' have the effect people think of. It would be pretty remarkable if an earthquake was started by an underground bomb. It's not unheard of, but very unlikely. I was hoping they would have messed up and blown themselves to holy hell.

ordinarily, this may be a solid time of 365 days to get a solid airfare to Hawaii. The specials i've got considered before the earthquake are extra low priced than it expenditures the airline to get you here, and that i'm unable to think of them dropping lots decrease. additionally, the 1st humpback of this season's migration became observed off west Maui final week, so the humpbacks would be arriving, mating, giving beginning and frolicking till approximately March. we are able to assume the waves to be kicking for yet another large surf season on north dealing with shorelines, on an identical time as south shorelines can assume circumstances suited for swimming and snokeling. some Kona storms will carry some lots-mandatory rain to coach leeward facets of the islands eco-friendly, on an identical time as the sunlight is often nonetheless shining someplace in the islands. The North Korean exams had not something to do with final week's earthquake in Japan or the day in basic terms before this's earthquakes on the Kona edge of the Island of Maui. Earthquakes are somewhat effortless there, and with regard to the stressors positioned on the island on an identical time as energetic volcanos are turning out to be. the day in basic terms before this's greatest quake isn't the main important quake to hit the island of Hawaii in recorded historic previous, and that's not even the main important to hit the Kona area in the previous 40 years. in case you prefer some hazards to get hysterical approximately, you may check out the Yellowstone volcano, the historic New Madrid earthquakes and present day probability, the Hilina droop, and a volcano in the Canary Islands that could fall down, inflicting a tsunami to hit the east coast of the U. S.. yet there's no connection between alleged North Korean underground nuclear exams and earthquakes in the direction of the Pacific Plate. and you may besides stay your existence on an identical time as you may.

No, Nuclear weapons have smaller range then most people realize. While they can take out a large area it can not take out whole cities the size of New YOrk or Chicago. It too big of an area. So therefore the impact is only within a few hundreds miles that it really felt

In my best opinion, no. The first time they tested a bomb, it set off an earthquake in South Korea, but it wasn't even that big. To have that big of an earthquake that much further away, that means the bomb must of been huge.

no. not a domino effect or a trigger at all.
However there is a spiritual connection. We are living in the end times of the earth, and these events are snow-balling.
