Well, 80s or very early 90s... it was about a kid who possessed a t-shirt (white I think) with a lion on the front. It gave him special powers, such as speed & agility & strength... and he lost it at one point and it fell into the wrong hands etcetc blabla. Any help would be appreciated!

Could it have been 'Sammy's Super T-Shirt'? Popular in the latter days of CFF filmgoing, Sammy's Super T-Shirt found renewed popularity with a new generation when shown on BBC1 in 1987 and once again in 1988, and is one of the best remembered of all the CFF (Children's Film Foundation) films.
SAMMY'S SUPER T-SHIRT - There was this kid, right? Called Sammy, and he had a... yes, well. Archetypal childhood Messiah fantasy gave the initially poor, put-upon and bullied Sammy a New Start In Life as the picture on his T-Shirt (which we seem to remember was one of those iron-on tiger's heads, or something), when rubbed, gave off "magical powers", due to some accidental chemical spillage incident with the shirt. Time stopped, sports day races were won and much mayhem ensued. Eventually, of course, something "went wrong" to make Sammy discard the shirt and "love himself for who he really is". Or something like that, but that was the dull moral that all the kids always ignored anyway.

Hi it wasn't a series but a one off from the Childrens Film Foundation. It was called Sammys super T-Shirt. I remember when he put it on the wrong way round and it stopped him in a running race.

Hope this helped.
