Pay more attention in your Government class. Cheney as an elected official cannot be fired by the President.

Rumsfeld on the other hand is appointed and can be fired.

How about you get some more education before you start making political commentary. Your question is so idiotic that it makes you appear to be retarded.

Not idiotic if the questioner is not American. I don't expect Americans to understand all the ins and outs of canadian government.
In any case it is true that Cheney cannot be fired. The only way they could get him out would be by impeachment, and it would take at least the two years he has left to acocmplish that. In any case, if Congress were interested in impeachment, Bush would be the first target. (I think Congress should make a public apology to Richard Nixon, since they are not impeaching Bush who's lies have had a much more devastating effect on the American public).
