Help build up her self-esteem. There is something going on in her mind or something that she is lacking emotionally that is causing her to turn to food for comfort. If it's not that she could have a true medical condition. She may need to go to the doctor and have her thyroid checked out or be checked for depression.
As for you, I feel sorry for you for being so shallow toward the woman you chose as your life partner. A person is so much more that his/her physical body. I'm sure she's picking up on this negative vibe and I can promise you it's only adding to the problem.
God bless you both!

Does she have any illness(es), take any medication(s)? Depression a very common illness that can cause a sudden change in a person's weight, among many others.
There is always a reason a person is overweight, and it's not always from consuming too many calories/being inactive.
It is sad you feel this way, for both you and her. Perhaps it would help you both if you try to look at it another way. Good luck to you and your wife.

Do you say that to her face !?
If so, she is probably suffering from low self esteem and some sort of depression - possibly leading to eating more etc.
Why don't you take over the kitchen for a month? Cook healthy meals. Also, ask her to join some sort of sport / activity outdoors with you.
Buy gym memberships for the both of you and tell her you need her support so YOU will stay motivated to go along.

Do not get another wife! Tell her in a nice, sweet voice that she looked better when she was thinner. Tell her that you also need to loose some weight(to make her feel good) and that both of you go together for a walk. This will also serve to get closer to her .

Start doing the grocery shopping so that she/you will cook healthier things. When I started doing this, and it was just for dinner that my husban's habbits changed, he lost 15 pounds. I understand how you feel though, you love them and you want to be attracted to them but I don't care who you are, it is hard to be attracted to a person that has packed on some pounds. I don't think there is a nice way to approach this though that wouldn't hurt her feelings, so, like I said, just bring healthier foods into the home. Good luck.

Instead of telling her things that SHE should do, suggest things that the both of you can do.
"Hon, I'm concerned that we're not active or eat healthy enough. What say we join a gym and eat better?"
Take it upon yourself to work together to be healthier. It'll be easier on her if you are both working towards a common goal - a healthier lifestyle.

A good figure isn't everything, is she feeling well? She could have diabetes or thyroid problems which will cause weight gain.
Don't complain to her about it. Remember the reasons why you mariied her. It is what is inside that counts, not what is on the outside.

Go on long, long walks with her, in all kinds of weather. Play tennis with her. Take her to bowling, not the movies.
If your wife is fat, it is partly due to your neglect of her need for an active lifestyle. Do your part.

i feel the same way your wife probably does. i have PCOS, which packs on pounds for me, and its hard to loose them. Try and do activities with her that will help her move more, and go to the store w/ her to buy healthier food. Little things will help.
