It would depend on weather or not i had a reltionship with the person on deathrow. i once had a friend convicted of murder and write to him. but there is also my belief that the people on deathrow are still human and some may earn forgivness if they attone for thier sins through helping others to not make the mistakes they have through impulses.

I've seen where lots of women write to Death row and life prisoners and they get the letters and compare with others on their landings they lie about their feelings just to get a laugh with their mates from the replies, they are bored and it's like a sport to them gives them something to do. Meanwhile the woman on the outside thinks they are sincere and honest....why do they think they are in there.... dishonesty..... fraud...murder...violence.... why do they think they can be the one to change them...

The short answer is NO.

I don't think I would simply because I don't know anyone on death row. But if I did, I guess I would ask why they did it. And ask them how they feel about being there - are they sorry. I would ask them if they could go back and re-live it, what would they do different. That kind of thing. But I doubt I would ever write.

I would. I would be interested in knowing their reasoning for the murders they committed. I would ask them all kinds of questions about their childhood, if they had friends, if they had girlfriends/boyfriends, kids. If they killed out of anger, or just being curious. I think it is sad that someone had to be killed for them to be on death row, but fortunately I don't know anyone that has been killed so I would feel pretty comfortable in asking these questions and also asking them how they feel about being on death row and if they feel they deserve to die. Good question!

Depends who it was. If I thought the person was wrongly convicted, or rightly convicted but with special circumstances, I would consider that.

I am sorry to say that there are a few people I know about whose convictions look suspicious but I don't write to them.

They've obviously done something really bad to be on death row - do they deserve a letter? If you want a penpal why don't you write to our brave troops posted all over the world.

There is obviously no point in writing to a person who is going away. If the letgal process has awarded the capital punishment to him and he/she is leaving this world, it is all over for them. But certainly I would say a prayer for them to give them peace and a better next life where they would live as positive members of civilized world.

No I wouldnt. They are on death row for a good reason. So until they spark em up on live TV society doesnt need any communication with these "people".
