As a generality, one can achieve more in life; receive more support and solace; live longer and more deeply appreciate the happiness in life by sharing with a significant other.

Being easily distracted and a little short on self discipline, I find that I can accomplish more with a significant other (wife). I also find, though, that I get to keep a hell of a lot more of the proceeds from whatever I accomplish without one.

Definetely "with" because without his support it would have been that much harder and vide versa - you don't stay married for 37 years and not be there for each other - a lesson that many people need to learn!

Yes you can. Sometimes it better to reach your goal by yourself.
Sometimes people hold us back. If you find that significant other that will understand, and be supportive, that is great.
