That depends on whether you can get parts, and how much it will cost you.
It would be well worth it if you could find the parts second hand.

I wish I knew - I have the same problem. Great dishwasher, damaged racks.

I think the salvage yard, or a used appliance store might be a good place to check. Sometimes people trade in or sell used appliances that end up being too far gone to fix. That might leave some good racks. If your newspaper has a "cheap" column of "Wanted" items try a short ad, or if your neighborhood or town has a "Bargain Hunter or Shopper" freeby paper their ads usually attract a wide variety of people - might find someone who had racks to sell.
Think I'll try this myself. I do not think that ordering a part new would be worth it. Dishwashers start at about $200. in my area of the country for the cheapest new ones but parts are usually very expensive.
I'll be reading the answers to this question too. Might help us both.

Dishwashers are only designed to last about 6 years, so I've been told by a serviceperson. So it's already overlasted itself. If you can afford it, get a new one instead of delaying the inevitable. And the new ones have all the energy-saving features, so you'll save in the long run. If it were a car, you wouldn't wait until it breaks down in the road before replacing it, so why not apply that to other things that you own?

No --they are expensive if purchased new. Perhaps ? ----- if you can find some good used ones from a repair shop at a fair price. You could also try a salvage yard.

I wouldnt, if it wasnt truely necessary. It could be better to ride that one out and then just get a new one later, save your money.
