I don't kinow iof this qualifies, but when I was in high school I had a very hard history test with 500 questions. I taped all of the classes leading up to the test and for the week before when I went to sleep at night I played the tape while I slept. I passed that test only missing one question out of the 500.

We spent a few days on that in my Communications class. The instructor showed us a lot of ads that he claimed contained subliminal messages. Some were obvious once he pointed them out, while others I couldn't see at all. He showed us studies where they would flash a picture of snacks, pop corn, hot dogs, drinks while a movie was playing. For the movies where these pictures were inserted there was a significant increase in sales at the concession stands. The pictures were flashed so quickly no one noticed them, but it was long enough to register. Kind of made me wonder if some cineplexes might be using this to get us to buy snacks and drinks.

many studies have been done on this. the consensus is that if something isnt visible long enough for you to be aware of it , its not there long enough to affect you at all.
the studies that claim it works are generally funded by those who are trying to sell the advertising.
