I have tried to understand how someone could claim that "it's not a life yet," but it simply doesn't make sense, despite how anyone struggles to validate it.
In most cases, if abortion was not an option, what would happen? A child would be born into this world. Period.

I haven't judged a single person. I want you to explain to me how you do not see it as killing a life. I still do not understand and most explanations I've gotten are pretty poorly thought out.

So far, these are some really crappy answers.
No one has even tried to explain it. Everyone seems set on taking shots at my current stance, rather than delievering answer.
If you beleive in something, there is a reason that you believe in it, correct? I would think so.

KryCAli: While I still believe that abortion is wrong, unless it's a meaure to prevent death of the mother, I have to admit, you have definitely given the best answer so far.
That is what I was looking for, but too many people are so quick to get defensive or needlessly agressive.
Thank you for your excellent answer -- I really do appreciate it!

I agree with you- I don't understand. Where do babies come from then? The stork. Woman's choice- it was also the woman's choice(most of the time) to willingly have sex. SEX LEADS TO PREGNANCY!! Shocker I know. The baby is not a virus or mass of cells, nor does it belong to the woman's body to do what she will- it is a baby simply trying to grow in a safe place until it is born! Why would you kill a baby who has done nothing but just be conceived. If you don't want children, abstain or use birth control.

Whether or not abortion is "murder" is a legal question. If the abortion is legal, it is not murder. If it is not legal, it is whatever the law defines it to be.
Using the term "murder" to discuss what the law should be will confuse the people in the audience that already don't understand the issue, which is most of them, and prove to the rest that you are confused yourself.
It's not about "life". Without a live sperm and a live egg, you don't get Conception, so there will be no life. Fetuses are alive, period. It's not about whether or not it is "human". It is human from Conception, unless you believe a woman can give birth to a goat. It's not about "viability". Viability is situational. A six month old baby is not viable without help.
What it's about is whether or not abortion is a justifiable homicide. The only way to decide that is to examine the question of when the fetus gains the right to live that the government will protect. It's not about the mother's rights, since we know that she has rights, it's about when the fetus gains rights. If the pregnancy is at a point where it has not, then it is justifiable, if it has gained rights, then it is not justifiable. This is a legal question, not religious or medical.
So the question is simply a matter of when the fetus attains those rights. Some say birth, some say conception, but the foolish pick some unknowable point in between. Since I can get a medical opinion that a fetus has not reached any specific point with a $500 consulting fee, "some point in between" will be birth. Only Conception and Birth make any real sense, as these are the only points that are knowable with any certainty.
Now, once we make this decision, it should be the same regardless of circumstance. Rape and incest should make no difference, and neither should the standard be different for a homicide by the mother from a homicide through the deliberate or negligent action of another. Either the fetus has rights or it doesn't, and it isn't dependent on who violates them, or the relationship of the sperm and egg donors.
It's all about when the law protects the life, but it's definitely a life, and a human one, at that.

It is my opinion that abortion becomes murder once the fetus has a chance of survival outside the womb either on it's own or with medical intervention. While it is true that an embryo has a beating heart shortly after conception it takes more than a heart to sustain a life. At that point the baby would die outside the womb. Nothing would be able to save it, no matter how advanced we've become in th efield of medicine. As far as letting god do his workgoes if that were true then the same arguement could be made for cancer patients and chemo. God has chosen that person to get sick for areason right? So chemo could be considered interfering in gods work. I personally would never go through with it. My life is better for having my son in it. However I do think it is anextremely personal choice that should be left to the individual. I also think the worst thing you could do is have achild in a situation where it is not wanted or loved. What kind of life would that be? would it be better than not having existed at all? I don't think so. if it threatens the life of the mother and there is noone to take care of it is it better to let the child grow up in the foster system? Also I think the Question you ask is a good one and anyone who chooses to judge or criticize is only showing you how self righteous and narrowminded they are.You are entitled to your beliefs and i respect you for standing up for them:)

I agree with you and I have asked people the same question. I have never been given an answer and I find that wrong. If they want to have an abortion, they should at least be able to explain why they find it easy to do.
Someone made a comment about wearing condom could be called murder then as well. That is a load of crap. Condoms may stop life but it's stopped before it's even begun where as an abortion kills the life already started.

Yeah, the child is alive regardless, but who wants to have a child by a rapist, or an AIDS patient, or a woman who is abused by her partner, or a prostitute who is pregnant by her John......what is the good of bringing children into a horrible situation? I totally despise those that have abortions as a means of birth control, but I'm sorry, I can't totally disagree with it. I have worked with abused/neglected children since I was 19, and the stories I hear from them and their mother are sometimes horrifying.....mothers having these children while they are on drugs, letting them get molested and raped by their boyfriends or customers....these children grow up hating themselves and others, and unfortunately many have turned to abusing others and themselves the same way.....a vicious cycle that is hard to break. I understand your point and your feelings, but some are better off not being born......believe me, I know most that feel that way til this very day.
Thanks to u nb109 for listening! And I do accept your opinion, after all, you are entitled to it.

Hi NB, Abortion is murder,i don't care how people look at it.It's a living human,so what is so hard to understand that. After giving birth,i you don't want to keep the baby, give the baby to someone who would love and care for the child. At least this way the baby has a chance for life and a happy family. A person who cares .

Reguardless of what people say it is murder, in the old testament God told Joshua that he knew him Before he was formed in his mothers womb......
My theory is if a person chooses to have a abortion then they should also abort the woman that choses to have one, if you are going to take one life of a innocent child that has no choice why not just abort the mother too? Why not wait until the child is between three and five and if you decide you don't want it, abort it then? It is just as alive in the womb as it is at the age of three or five year old. That is why no one can validate it, it is still murder. It don't matter what people try to justify is right in their own minds it is what God says is right , however for those that see no porblem with it they are the ones that will have to answer for their actions and I sure wouldn't want to stand before God and try to explain it to Him.

I couldn't agree more. Even if the pregnancy is high risk, that's still no reason to have an abortion, because you are taking away the chance for God to do his work and save the child. Sometimes you just have to trust in the Lord and let his will be done.

I have 4 children, my 1st was born when I was only 17.
I just know that I could never have an abortion.... I would never judge anyone who has had one..... but if you chose to have sex, you have to live with the consequences and sometimes that is a baby.

I think you have a valid opinion but I think your opening a can of worms that might upset people. I think maybe you should keep it only on the website that you have posted. And if you don't like the answers your going to get maybe you shouldn't post them. I think your trying to preach and wanting people to agree with you.
