Well there are many closeted singers. I've noticed lately that there have been a string of gay men coming out of the closet from the boy bands. Also there would be Melissa Etheridge, Elton John, Marie Wilson, Darren Hayes, K.D Lang, The Scissor Sisters, Betty, Shawna Colvin and many more.

I think you have to look it up.If 10% of the population is gay, then 10% (or maybe more) of musical artists are gay.
And then will they be out? I have a friend who's best friend is in a band, and he eventually admitting to loving my friend but said in his own words "i cannot be gay. I'm in a band"
Basically you will never know if someone is gay.
Furthermore does their sexual preference make a difference (except the fact that you may fantasize about them, and this fantasy has a chance of becoming true)?
I say look it up, because the list will be long.
PS. By saying music business, you have basically said even DJ's, guitar players for studios, etc. It would be more helpful if you specified.
BTW, darren Hayes is also gay. (made my friend happy in that one, because he didn't even know until I told him)

The lead singer from a major European heavy metal band (not Rob Halford - who we all know is gay) was auditioning drummers - and told one of them "You can be in the band if you let me ---- you in the ---."
The singer from a well-known straightedge hardcore band was often seen making out with other men in gay bars...before his conversion to a cultish religion...
In Nashville there is a secret network for guys in the music industry to meet at homes for gay sex parties - trust me, you don't want to know who is involved...
An MTV host was seen with a possibly underage boy in a NYC gay bar...
In hip-hop...they're all on the "DL" - all of 'em...and one famous rappers mother is a lesbian...
