I did one of each.
Our first, we left as a total surprise and I LOVED IT that way!!!
But for our second, our first child (girl) was barely 2 years old when the second was born. We figured we'd be better able to "prepare" her if we told her she would be getting a brother or a sister, so we found out. Our second was a boy.
I think it's fine either way but personally, I prefered having the gender be a surprise until the birth.

Your question just gave me a great idea...
I think it's better to know the sex of your baby so you can decorate the room and buy clothes accordingly blue or pink.
But it be fun if you let it be a surprise for friends and family,
that way they will all be interested to find out the day the baby is born!
Good luck with your decision, and congrats with the pregnancy !!!

There's no right or wrong answer here. It's a personal decision. I could not wait!!! I also wasn't able to afford to not know. I wanted to be ready and have everything sex-oriented whenever the baby got here. My sister, on the other hand, decided not to find out the sex of her baby, and it was an awesome suprise!!! So, do whatever you want to, but if you have the patience, I would wait. Good luck.

hey! well... back when i fell pregnant and even before i did, i thought i wouldnt find out what we were having. I thought itd be great to get a surprise. BUT when it got about a week before i had my first ultrasound i just couldnt wait anymore and just HAD to know! It was great that i did! It was so much more exciting knowing that i was going to have a little baby boy! Buying all the boys clothes, and picking out a boys name. It is really exciting to know what you are carrying. One of my friends just had her 2nd baby girl, she however didnt find out what she was having and she was hoping and convinced that she was having a boy.. and when she saw it was a girl i guess she was a little disappointed or something because she wasnt expecting it. So, Im still really glad that i found out, because when the babys are born they dont even tell you what you have anymore, they have to leave it up to you to have a look.. and after just giving birth you are so overwhelmed that you dont even look! Its great to know what you are having. I never thought that i would ever find out with any of my babies, but the next one i will too. Its just amazing to know i think. Goodluck and i hope that you ARE pregnant. You have so much to look forward to!

How do you fell its really up to you im preganant for third time and i have found out with all mine i jus cant wait finding out on your 20 week ultra sound is jus as exciting as finding out at birth well i thinks so other people will probably disagree but it was alot easier for friends and family to buy things or presents when they new what i was having and its very exciting setting up there nursery then bringing them home to there very own pink or blue room so either way having a baby is such an excitment in itself good luck!

I think it's really a personal preference. If you want to paint the room and buy things ahead of time then find out. If you want to be surprised and buy all neutral colors before then leave it a surprise. I personally would want to know so I could plan the room and have it set up on arrival and I also I would like to plan the name in advance. Good Luck!

Depends on you, i choose to find out because i just wanted to know but sometimes as a mother you can feel what you are having before you are even 20 weeks. I knew I was having a boy and by the grace of God I got my boy.

I didn't find out. I figured that life has so few surprises and this is one of the very, very best!!
I went neutral on the room and clothes.
Each person however should do what works for them!
Good luck on whatever you decide!!

It is totally up to you as an individual. I decided that I wanted to know because I wanted to be able to buy things in advance and to decorate the nursery with touches that would reflect the baby's sex. My husband didn't really want to know. He would have been happy to find out during the birth.
I have friends that have decided not to do any tests and to wait until delivery to know and they are happy with that. It's just up to you.

I just swore with my second I didn't want to know the sex. But the closer the time came the more impatient I became and I had to know. I would find out if you are impatient like me. Congrats!
