When everybody else said that there were WMDs in Iraq back in 2001/2002, they were making that statement based on the information they had at the time. We now know that the administration was only allowing the release of information that supported the claim of WMDs. Any information that denied their existence or called it into question was suppressed. Bush was still riding on the height of his popularity after 9/11 and a successful campaign in Afghanistan, and no one had any reason to doubt him.

So, yes, many democrats said that Iraq had WMDs. They said it because Bush told them it was true, and they made the mistake of trusting Bush.

So the only thing that you can charge them Democrats with is not recognizing that the President was lying to them.

I agree with open4one and oracle. To lie, you must actually know that you are not telling the truth. The Democrats said that Iraqs had WMDs, because that's what the CIA told them during the Clinton administration. The CIA believed that the Iraqis had WMD because Saddam had used WMDs before and was acting like he had WMDs - if there were no WMDs, why keep UN inspectors out? When Bush came to office, the CIA told him the same thing. That is why he went to war in Iraq in the first place.

The Democrats, however, are lying now because they know Bush didn't fabricate the war - he just acted on really bad information that seemed reliable at the time.

So you're blaming Bush's reasons for going into war on the democrats?

They had false info then, and didn't start a war.
Bush said he had the same info, and did.

The difference? Our soldiers are dieing.

You're right! Clinton was wrong! But thank God no one died in Iraq for him.

Thanks, you made me feel better about Clinton. He may be an adulterer, but at least he doens't send us into blind wars.

Nice try, but it doesn't wash now. Want to see some real lies and hypocrisy?

Quotes from the Clinton Impeachment;

"This nation sits at a crossroads. One direction points to the higher road of the rule of law. Sometimes hard, sometimes unpleasant, this path relies on truth, justice and the rigorous application of the principle that no man is above the law. Now, the other road is the path of least resistance. This is where we start making exceptions to our laws based on poll numbers and spin control. This is when we pitch the law completely overboard when the mood fits us, when we ignore the facts in order to cover up the truth.

No man is above the law, and no man is below the law. That's the principle that we all hold very dear in this country." - Tom Delay (R-TX)

"What is on trial here is the truth and the rule of law. Our failure to bring President Clinton to account for his lying under oath and preventing the courts from administering equal justice under law, will cause a cancer to be present in our society for generations. I want those parents who ask me the questions, to be able to tell their children that even if you are president of the United States, if you lie when sworn "to tell the truth, the whole truth and nothing but the truth," you will face the consequences of that action, even when you don't accept the responsibility for them." - James Sensenbrenner: (R-WI)

"There can be no shading of right and wrong. The complicated currents that have coursed through this impeachment process are many. But after stripping away the underbrush of legal technicalities and nuance, I find that the President abused his sacred power by lying and obstructing justice. How can parents instill values and morality in their children? How can educators teach our children? How can the rule of law for every American be applied equally if we have two standards of justice in America--one for the powerful and the other for the rest of us?" - Chuck Hagel (R-NE)

"I will have no part in the creation of a constitutional double-standard to benefit the President. He is not above the law. If an ordinary citizen committed these crimes, he would go to jail." - Bill Frist (R-TN)

It wasn't on Bill Clinton, Nancy Pelosi, nor Hillary Clinton's watch when America was attacked.

Yes, They like their voters always has an excuse so that it's not their fault. They played the "I'm too stupid to actually know anything before it voted on it mentality". Since when have the Democrats ever taken anything Bush says as the truth. The fact is that the war was politically beneficial at the time, and now it's not.

Politicians lie. It is a fact no matter what brand they are. Republicans are a little more forceful about it and when caught get mad as hell and democrats are a little easier to admit it. But both sides lie like they took classes in school on lieing.

Iraq was ordered by the UN to destory the WMD he had and he did and he told everyone he did. But Bush had to prove he had the biggest preck and attacked anyway even with the UN trying to stop him.

So that is how it works. You have something and after you destory it you no longer have it.. Think about it ..

No, democrats are not lying, republicans are the ones that like to twist word around and get a bunch of ignorant shitt started!!!! Nobody likes terrorists, and I'm sure that no one in the USA today would even had a problem with the war if Bush would have done it the right way and carpet bombed the shitt out of them and anilated their country, but noooo, he was to worried about protecting the precious oil to fight this war the right way!!!!!!

i dont think theres ever been a president that has had so much exposure after his tenure than bill clinton,im still trying to figure out exactly what he did wrong? he battled a republican house for 8 yrs and still managed to fix our economy after the reagan/bush trickle down economy, when w got into office we had a surplus for the first time in decades (yeah thats plural).he tried to push a health plan that would have given us cheaper and better care then hmo's,geez the list goes on but you republicans only think of your wallet and subsequently yourselves, back in the day republicans were for less government alas that is no longer true, maybe bubba did screw a fat chick in the oval office, but at least he wasnt trying to solicit young boys online, now that is immoral

Who is in charge right now? Is it Clinton or bush? If I remember correctly, it's bush. This is one of the reasons why this administration is one of the worst in history. This is no responsibility or accountability in this administration. This administration ran on a morals issue, stating they would be morally better than the last one. They have yet to show anything morally better, and when they are exposed, they state it was Clinton's fault.

Can someone in YOUR party take ANY responsibility????????
