Long story- had ovarian cysts at age 11, went on pill to control that- i have had problems w/ all my bc methods. went off bc last oct b/c of heavy bleeding. Heavy bleeding has continued, usually 2.3 weeks. Wk 1= pre period discharge, brown "tissuey" etc. Wk2= Period, heavy flow normal, Wk3 = light pink/brown discharge, occasional heavy day.

I am SO frustrated. I have moved a lot in the past 3 years so I haven't had the same doctor and so I have had all these different opinions from all these different ob/gyn. has anyone else experienced anything like this and if so, what came of your situation?

hope to be staying in the area for a while

my doctor had me go off the pill to stop the bleeding- although this didn't work and this doctor was the worst of all the ob/gyn's i have ever seen. rude, and just not interested in the patient.

THANKS TO ALL

Normally birth control pills control the bleeding, cysts and fibroids. Have you had all of the recommended tests? As the other woman said, be sure to take a multi-vitamin with iron. If you need a good doc, find one and stick with one you trust - good luck.

Hi! I had those problems all of my life until now I've had a hysterectomy in my fifties. You poor kid! It is such cycle of pain, depression, confusion, fear and irritation! I moved alot in my life too and couldn't seem to get any consistant help. Go to a gynecologist again and ask if he thinks a D&C might help. I did that 3 times during my life and other women with your problem have had more. After I had my 4th child, I got endometriosis and fibroid tumors and the doctor said I needed a hysterectomy. I had my ovarian tubes out and my uterus all but my cervix opening and have been in heaven since!!!!! If you ever have it done make sure to have the doctor cut through your pubic area NOT through vaginal canal because other friends I have that did that are now incontinant. (pee their pants) Yes many women go through this. I often laugh and say if I ever get into heaven, I am going to find EVE and punch her square in the nose! (According to Bible, this is part of the curse for eating the apple!) Remember to get a internal checkup and pap smear every year because this could be a precursor of cancer. Your period blood is not completely being ejected with your monthly so it is getting stuck inside and it gets old. (brownish discharge) Try to lower your stress level and iron supplements should be taken. Good luck and God Bless!

Much as I hate to suggest this, I think it's time to find an ob/gyn where you live presently. I had to deal with something similar, and an extra bit of estrogen helped me, but only a doctor will be able to really tell you. Good luck!

I had that prob and my doc put me on the pill. But a friend of mine had the same thing and they did a D & C on her. You might ask your doc about that procedure and see if it's right for you. Those are the only things I've heard of for that kind of bleeding short of a hystorectomy. You didn't say how old you are but you don't want that except as a last resort.

It could be a hormonal thing because when you stop takeing your medians with out consult a doctor first can have side that do not want.It could also be stress related. Best thing to do is go to your doctor.

I had a friend whose sister had that. Its could be caused from iron deficiency.
