I have been on Cyprus for holidays & business many times since 1992. Of course, only the Greek side. Since my first visit, the Island became more & more touristic, but being a large island, Cyprus can easily absorb this industry without losing too much of its authenticity. Nature is great in all its aspects, sea, mountains and forests are pure, unspoiled and accessible.
Due to the expensive Cyprus pound, visiting Cyprus is for sure more expensive than Greece; it is not a low budget destination. Travelarrangements an hotels are however lower priced recent years; competition from other mediteranean destinations were the reason for that.
As for the weather, it has the best climate in the whole of the mediteranean and throughout the year the highest temps. Be carefull in highsummer.. it might become too hot ..
Have a nice holiday, and do not forget to drive at the left side of the roads.. also be aware that you can only rent a car if you prove you have several years of driving experience.. 18years with driver license is no good for them.
Grtz

I am so sorry to see everyday confirming the fact that Cyprus is divided!....

What a pity!

I have not been to the Greek side of Cyprus, but my parents have and they said that it is very beautiful. The landscape is something between West and East, the weather is always nice and the prices are normal, compared to Greece.
They were on a weekly trip arranged by a travel agency, so they did not spend much, provided everything was included (air tickets, accommodation, lunches, drinks, tours etc.).
If you take this option, it will not cost you much either...

Splendid!
Super!
After all, Aphrodite, the Goddess of Love and Beauty was born there!
People are friendly and proud! The island is beautiful, very scenic, warm and friendly!
I know that regardless of how much I spent, I got more (in form of energy and strength, knowledge, joy, excitement, pleasure, ...)!
