I don't oppose abortion but whether it is rape, accident or whatever, a woman has the right to decide what happens to her body.
And no one can really give an accurate answer unless they have actually been raped and found themselves pregnant.
Adopt it out, great idea. Meanwhile the mother has to go through the pregnancy and the birth and then think about how fcked in the head the child will be when it finds out 'my father was a violent person who raped my mother'........the world needs more of that. Unless you are a parent you have no idea how to answer this question.

I'm pro-choice though I personally think even with the moral choice put aside that abortion is not a good thing for the woman emotionally or physically.
That being said of course a raped pregnant woman should have a choice but why compound an evil? If she could it would be great to have the child and if not keep it (which I realize without the help of God would probably be impossible) then consider carrying the baby for adoption?

No. The child had no more of a choice of being created in a loving, nurturing family than it did being created due a violent crime like rape.
The childs life should not be taken just because the act occurred.
If the mother feels that seeing, feeding, holding and loving the child would be a reminder of what happened to create the child, she has the option of adoption. There are many couples who dont care how the child got there, but want to provide a home for one.

Of course not. Killing an innocent child is always wrong. I wouldn't kill an infant because his or her father was a rapist, so why would I kill a child in the womb for the same reason? No child deserves to die for the crime of his or her father.

Furthemore, abortion only increases the trauma of a woman who has been raped. She becomes the aggressor, hurting someone else the way she was hurt, and the knowledge of what she has done will haunt her long after she has healed from the rape.

You must understand why I am against abortion. I believe that it is murder. Yes some people will disagree, but that is how I see it. So even though rape is a terrible, horrible thing, is it justice to murder the baby?
The baby had nothing to do with the rape, why kill it? I understand that the victim would not want the child of a rapist, but does that child deserve to be killed for the crimes (sins) of its father?
It is a very sticky issue, and I wish that it wasn't an issue, meaning that I wish rape didn't occur. But it does, and seems that it always will. But again why should the child suffer? Some will say that a woman has the right to choose what happens to her body, but who chooses for the unborn child?
That is my opinion, and I know there will be disagreement, but I'm just trying to answer the question that was asked.

I stand by a woman's right to choose, however for myself, am not for abortion. This said, I do agree that a woman should be able to abort when forced into sex, if the baby is known to be incredibly unhealthy before birth, or if giving birth would cause harm to the mother. I do not believe abortion as a means of birth control is appropriate, no matter your age, status, income, etc. If you are having sex, be smart enough to understand what can happen. If it's an accident, you should have your choice.

I am on the fence about abortion. I don't like abortion. I would not have one under normal circumstances, but I don't have the right to tell anyone else what to do with their life and body. I would definitely have one in the case of rape.

That would be the ONLY reason that I would agree for it ... but even then I would encourage the mother to give the baby up to a family who are very much wanting to raise a child.

Think of this .. people in this country go to jail if they tie a dog too close to a tree and the dog twists the chain up and kills itself ... That is animal abuse.... yet we can kill an unborn child and it's ok ??? Rationalize that for me.

You mean pro-abortion. No, a baby created during a rape is still an innocent person who deserves to live. The mother can give the baby up for adoption.

Nope, some of the most accomplished people are a product of rape. Don't end the child's chance to live because of the circumstances of which they were created -- it's not their fault.

If you REALLY feel as if you can't live with the child, there are plenty of families that can't conceive children who would be happy to adopt.

How does killing an innocent child in anyway rectify the situation. Because something horrible was done to a woman, she in turn has the right to do something horrible to the resulting human life?
