It will if your credit report is part of the background check. Civil suits are not included in a criminal history, but they are listed in your credit report.

Depends on the search. Since you lost in civil court, it will show up if the searcher checks a database that lists civil court judgements. For criminal background checks, most states will allow background checks, including criminal records, for free or a fee, to registered users. When someone runs a background check with a company it all depends on how much the person is spending for the background check & how far they are digging... thousands of databases exist throughout the country. If the civil court case has been within the past seven years, it will most likely come up with a simple search.

If you mean in a police background check, no. If you mean a financial background check, it depends on what the lawsuit was about. If you owed money and didn't pay it and they had to sue you to get the money, then yes the judgment will be on your record. If it was something like a property dispute or defamation of character, no that won't show up as long as you pay any financial judgment made against you.
