When testing the wires for conductivity the following occurs.
Brown and White
Brown and Grey
Brown and LT. Blue
Brown and Purple
all have conductivity

I can not narrow it down to where the short is and have spent hours looking. Please help!

I would start at the backup lights and work my way back through the harness up to the push button switch. Check the bulbs in the backup lights first sometimes one of the filiments will break in the bulb and short it out, remove or replace bulbs and try depressing the button and see if this solves the problem, If not you have a painstaking job of short searching. good luck

If the wire to the reverse lamps gets hot, it is the one shorted out. Trace out the wire until you find it.
