First off if they are so far advanced they know who is the leader and would not bother to ask some Joe standing in the yard with a shovel in his hands planting peppers in his garden.
Second they would make them self visable to our radar while still in space and wait for us to start trying to make contact.
Third If they were to ask any one they would ask the people in the space station because that would take a big leader to get it there.
Forth if they crashed on our planet they would be hiding not asking for a leader because they know we would do the same thing to them that they would do to us.. Cut them up to see what makes them work.

was going to give a smartass answer, but this is actually an interesting question....... perhaps somebody who has enough wealth to not have anything really to gain by exploiting the situation. Bill Gates maybe? Tiger Woods?
Or maybe the likes of the national geographic society, though it would be hard to pass them off as our leaders.

Cookie has a point but I'd tell them that our leader is Osama and I'd tell them to go find him for themselves. If they have the technlogy to get here they should have the technology to find Osama. Then let them sort it out among themselves.
