I have a 2002 cougar that i bought about a year old. The car has a 6 disc cd changer built in the dash and it was giving me problems like making this jack hammering noise whenever i changed a cd and the other day i went out to change one and it said cd error and it sounded like all the cds in the player were breaking in the dash. But that isn't all the problems, the car heats up inside really quickly with no heat or anything on and if you touch the heater it will burn you with nothing coming out, if you turn something on while driving or something you lose a lot of power and a lot of light source. Does anyone know what is wrong with this piece of junk? And has anyone ever heard of a 6 disc cd changer doing that?

Damn girl that thing is posessed get rid of it quick. If it gets that hot it might catch fire dang. Seems like the electrical problem from hell. Take it to an auto electric shop pronto or shoot it.

as far as the heater goes it is probably a vacuum hose that is disconnected or broken, you could get a chilton manuel with a vacuum diagramn or take it in and have them fix it. and the loss of power would probably be a voltage regulator of some sort, my 1978 cougar is doing that very same thing. but it could also be that the alternator is going bad, again you could take it(the alternator) off and take it to a auto parts store and they should test it for free! or you could take it in to a shop, and they can put the whole car on a machine that will tell you how well the alternator and battery are working. and with the stereo, my home 5 disc changer did that to, I simply used GRAPHITE lubricant(hardware stores sell it just ask for lockkey lubricant) and then played a cd player cleaner disk with rubbing alcahol on the brushes. well I hope this helps!!! You obviously have a short somewhere. Take it to a Ford dealer at once!!! There, at least they have the proper wiring diagrams, as well as EXPERIENCED bodies working on your vehicle. I would NOT recommend taking it to a "garage" for this type of problem. As someone posted, your car could catch on fire if you delay too much longer!!!
